ATA- Albury - the 'New' days:
This first week of December, 2002 has seen changes. Changes of no earth-shattering nature. I crashed my Toyota Starlet last week.
Other changes were even more eventful.
Limited to a small group of people who knew Lindsay then, and now, who worked for him in the past, and now work for one of the many mutations the company he developed has undergone over the years.
Lindsay died last week.
Tony Bender rang, I thought to talk Mac info like we daily do. He said LCK was very sick. I sent an email. Tony said Lindsay mentioned it.
ADI has sold the IP of Lindsay's ATA to Polytronic. The latter would have been Lindsay's competitor for all his life in the target business.
The Albury Company received a nice contract from the Australian Army having split into two companies:
Greg Petts now runs ATSPL, he survived through the ATA-DART-ADI days as did Bryan Green who joined ATA a few years before I arrived.
The future looks good for both companies.
They provide employment locally and ensure an indigenous target industry, developed by an Australian, Lindsay Charles Knight, remains in Albury, Australia.
